Settings overview

Settings is where you configure Realm — yourself, your brokerage, and the compliance rules that govern your transactions. Realm splits settings into three scopes so personal preferences never get tangled up with org-wide policy. Knowing which scope you're in tells you who a change affects.

The three setting scopes

ScopeAffectsWho can change itWhere to find it
General (your account)Just you — your profile, notifications, calendar, securityEvery user, for their own accountSettings (the gear / your name menu)
Brokerage (the Workspace)Your whole organization — members, teams, commission, Realm defaultsBrokers, admins, and (for some tabs) team leadsBrokerage Settings
ComplianceThe governance rules enforced across every RealmBrokers and adminsA focused section reached from Brokerage Settings

A Workspace is your brokerage/team container; a Realm is a single transaction. These scopes are about the Workspace and your account — the things you set up once and reuse — not about any one Realm. See the Glossary if those words are still fuzzy.

How to reach each scope

  1. General settings — open the Settings page from the top-right menu. You'll land on Profile. Tabs run across the top (Notifications, Connect, Calendar, Security, Integrations, and more). There's a search box at the top — type "timezone", "MLS", or "2FA" and it jumps you to the right tab.
  2. Brokerage settings — if you're a broker, admin, or team lead, a Workspace / Brokerage Settings entry appears. This is the org-wide hub: Users & Roles, Teams, Commission, Realm Settings, Lead Sources, Routing, and more.
  3. Compliance — from Brokerage Settings, switch to the Compliance section using the section switcher in the header. It keeps the broker policy, disclosure, retention, and audit surfaces on their own focused page.

Which page do I want?

If a tab or setting isn't showing for you, it's almost always a permissions thing — brokerage and compliance settings are gated to brokers, admins, and team leads. Ask your broker if you need access.
