Signing documents
Realm has e-signature built in, so you can send a document for signature without leaving the platform or bolting on a separate signing tool. Any document on a Realm — one you uploaded or one you filled from a form — can be prepared and sent for signature.
Sending for signature
- On a Realm's document (or a Required Documents row), choose Prepare to sign.
- Realm shows the document with the signer fields already placed — signature, date, initials, and printed-name boxes for each signer.
- Adjust anything if you need to, then send. Each signer gets their request and signs in order.
- As signatures come in, the document's status moves from **Awaiting Sign to Partly Signed to Signed**, and the checklist row updates to match.
Where the signature fields come from
You don't have to drag a signature box onto every form. Realm works out where each field belongs on its own, using the best signal available for that document:
- If the PDF already has tagged signature fields, it uses them exactly.
- If your brokerage has approved a layout for this form before, it replays that layout — the form was fixed once, so it's right every time after.
- Otherwise it reads the document's labels and lines (for example, a "Buyer Signature" line above a blank) and places the fields there.
- As a last resort it lays a clean block of signer fields at the bottom, so a document is never left with nowhere to sign.
The result is a document that comes up ready to send, whatever shape the original PDF was in.
It learns from you
The placement gets better the more you use it. When you adjust the fields on a form and send it, Realm remembers that final layout for that form. The next time anyone in your brokerage prepares the same form, it comes up with your corrected layout already applied. Fix a form once, and it stays fixed.
