Realm lets you send and receive email without leaving the platform, so every message is attached to the right person and the right Realm. This page covers sending, receiving, your Realm email address, forwarding, and templates.
Sending an email
- Open Connect and pick Email on the channel rail.
- Select a person from the list, or click New message and start typing a name, email address, or phone number — Realm detects whether you mean an email, a text, or a chat.
- Write your subject and message in the composer.
- Click Send. The email lands in that person's thread alongside any earlier texts or notes.
Typing a brand-new email address that isn't a contact yet? Realm opens an email thread for it without forcing you to create a contact. You can Add as contact later once it's worth tracking.
Which address your email sends from
If you've connected your own Gmail or Outlook, Realm sends as you — from your primary connected inbox for new email, and from whichever inbox owns the thread when you reply. If you haven't connected one, email goes out from your Realm email address. On the composer you can also pick the Send from mailbox explicitly. See Connecting your inbox.
Templates and drafting with EVE
- Use Insert template in the composer to start a common email (intro, follow-up, document request) without retyping. Saved replies are managed in Settings → Connect.
- Click Draft Follow-up with EVE and EVE writes a follow-up for the open thread using what it knows about the Realm or the lead. The draft lands in your composer — review, edit, and send. EVE never sends on its own.
- Turn a conversation into a meeting with Send Calendar Invite — see Sending a calendar invite.
Your Realm email address & forwarding
Each user (and each Realm) can have a Realm email address. Forwarding lets messages flow between that address and an inbox you already use.
To set up forwarding to your everyday inbox:
- Go to Settings and find your email alias / forwarding option.
- Enter the destination address you want messages forwarded to.
- Realm sends a confirmation email to that address — open it and click the Confirm forwarding button to verify you own it.
- Once confirmed, forwarding is live.
Forwarding stays off until you confirm the destination. This double-check prevents email from being routed to the wrong inbox, and guards against forwarding loops and auto-responder pile-ups.
Receiving email
Inbound email lands in the matching person's thread automatically, and the Inbox shows the new reply as unread. Realm checks for replies in the background, so you usually don't need to refresh.
Email vs. the Mail app
Connect treats email as one channel of a conversation. If your brokerage provisions a full mailbox for you, the separate Mail app is a traditional webmail (Inbox / Sent / Drafts / Archive / Trash, CC and BCC). See Inbox & Mail for the difference.
